Joe Strauss states in his 1991 Chiropractic Philosophy Book, “The chiropractic adjustment. Is not intended to make a patient feel better but to enable his or her body to work better. Limitations of time and of matter are also factors which determine whether there is a a symptomatic change accompanying an adjustment. If, after neural integrity has been restored, the body does not have the capacity to bring about the innate intelligence’s desired change, then perhaps no symptomatic changes will take place because of limitations of matter. The healing process does take time and symptomatic changes may not be perceived until completion or substantial completion of the healing process, which may be long after neural integrity has been normalized.”
